Week 4 EOC: B2B vs Consumer Marketing

Business to business relationships are much different than business to consumers. When business are ready to purchase alot is taken into consideration and is much more complex becuase they are dealing with large amounts of money. The purchasing process can be lengthly and can take months due to details involved such as product specifications, purchase orders and follow certain guidelines in order to finalize the process.

"Compared with consumer purchases, a business purchase usually involves more decision participants and a more professional purchasing effort. Often, business buying is done by trained purchasing agents who spend their working lives learning how to buy better. The more complex the purchase, the more likely it is that several people will participate in the decision-making process." (An Introduction for Education Management Corporation, 10th Edition).
Constomer marketing is mainly geared to problem recognition and consumers will buy something when they feel it will help them solve a problem. Businesses markets to consumers with feelings and how their product will make them feel much more better.
