Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

Playing video games has always been a big hit with the young and the not so young, but the video industry has also felt the shocking waves of the economy. Most video game players have had to halt their spending on new video games and find other alternatives like free game apps on their Iphones. Most of these apps are free or charge a small fee to download, within minutes you’ll be playing a new and exciting game. The best part of phone apps is that you can play just about anywhere such as while in line at the DMV or while waiting to be called in to your dentist appointment. "Initial orders for our products are tending to be lower, "said Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. best known for its "Grand Theft Auto" action-game seriew. "It's not just us, but the industry as a whole." People who already have home video games such as Xbox, Nintendo, Play Station or Wii can easily continue playing on these consoles they already own by refreshing it with new games or updates online. I don’t the video game industry will disappear all together but it will create a market to invent new games for those people who already have these consoles.
